Le beatmaker / MC d’Oxnard reprend du service cet automne avec deux nouveaux projets en poche : WLIB AM: King of the Wigflip, chez BBE (donnant suite à la série Beat Generation, après Dilla ou Pete Rock) et deux volumes-séquelle de sa série des Beat Konducta (Vol. 5: Dil Cosby Suite et Vol. 6 : Dil Withers Suite).
Prolifique Madlib. Sauf que, connaissant le phénomène, la quantité n’est pas forcément toujours synonyme de qualité. Attendons et annonçons: le beatmaker / MC d’Oxnard revient donc cet automne avec deux nouveaux solos : WLIB AM: King of the Wigflip (BBE) et un nouveau volume de sa série des Beat Konducta (Vol. 5: Dil Cosby Suite).
Annoncé depuis presque 2 ans, le deal entre le label anglais Barely Breaking Even et Madlib voit donc le jour ce 30 septembre 2008. BBE avait auparavant fait appel à Dilla, Jazzy Jeff et Pete Rock pour des résultats plus ou moins concluants. Tous les titres sont en streaming sur le site de Stones Throw et laissent présager diversités et folies dans le choix instrumental, comme à l’accoutumée, cinématographique, décalé, enfumé et obscure.
A côté de cela, et en marge de la sortie du Madvillainy 2 : The Box (voir notre news), Stones Throw prévoit pour le 28 octobre la sortie digitale du Beat Konducta Vol. 5: Dil Cosby Suite. Le Beat Konducta Vol. 6: Dil Withers Suite, sortira à la fin de l’année en version CD/LP avec son prédécesseur.
